HR Leaders was a complete transformation of a warehouse in Greenwich into a studio complete with ancillary services. At 2,196sq ft we fitted in a new studio, bathrooms, a mezzanine split between office space, podcast studio, green room, control room and the main set.

Having led on both the design and project management see below the initial 3D renders followed by the completion pictures.

One of the biggest challenges with this project was isolating the studio from the nearby warehouses. Just outside were forklifts manoeuvring with a reversing alarm that had a frequency of 1350Hz at 90db. We offset this noise penetration through a combination of factors including increased mass and thicker partition walls, relocating the set and omnidirectional mics. Having completed the studio we had an issue of a delivery driver walking in on set as no one could hear the bell!

The LED integrated set was a new bench mark for our internal set design team. The client team provided us with a reference set that they wanted to achieve with their own colours and design. Built with a number of overlapping MDF ‘plates’ each of these were backlit with RGB LED strips, driven from a remote desk in the production control room. Once built the lighting grid truss sat around 200mm above the highest set elements.
